Yep, still in pyjamas at 2 in the afternoon. Summer holiday is still so for another month, and I intend to enjoy every wasteful moment of it.
Regrets? I have none.
Also: Rumour Has It is nearly at 16,000 words even with some rather extreme editing (resulting in less explicit Rumbelle in the early chapters, which hurts me almost as much as it hurts Gold), and I might get around posting chapter 3 tonight. If chapter 5 works and Bae gets around to telling me what the hell he’s even doing here, that is.
Is Cannes gorgeous? It always sounded gorgeous..
It’s beautiful in the right places, all winding cobbled streets and little restaurants. The hotel/touristy bit is a bit naff. There’re too many lights and designer things everywhere. but for the most part yes, it’s gorgeous :)
Happy day!
I’m just a having really rather wonderful day. Thought I’d share nice things, because there seem to be sad times happening elsewhere.
- I slept in
- I ate my favourite food - tagliatelle and tomato sauce - with Red Bull for lunch
- Wrote around 6,000 words of Easy A!Rumbelle
- Got an email from the DSA people approving my funding for next year
- Got the bus rather than walked down the monster hill into Cannes
- Had a lovely meal with family
- Finished ‘Paper Towns’ by John Green (which is incredible and should be read by anyone with a pulse)
- Got an email from a newish but awesome friend of mine, in which she basically proves to be entirely flawless, and around for having hijinks and awesome times all summer. And promises to liveblog her way from Stable Boy to the finale.
Also? Wore my What Would Belle Wear? dress.

Yep, will be sleeping sooner rather than later, but am content with the world right now.
It was all a false alarm, guys
Internet is alive and working and as fast as at home.
SO NOW I CAN HAS HOLIDAY AND I CAN HAS TUMBLR!
Also: half of the next Harmless is completed already. Also half my dark!Snow and Rumpelstiltskin fic, and Chalkdust companion piece.
7hours on a train will tend to do that.
Day 1
The Eurostar is a strangely normal experience. You sit on a train, it’s dark, then it’s light and OH SHIT YOU JUST SPENT HALF AN HOUR UNDER THE SEA.
I wanted fish or mermaids or at least a big sign saying BEWARE: OCEAN. Nope. Just dark and then BOOM! FRANCE.
Also: I forgot that the crazy Continentals have different plug sockets to Englishmen
Therefore: 30mins laptop power left.
OTOH: Hotel for tonight has wi-fi. Yet to see the status for the apartment we’re staying in from tomorrow night onwards.
(I would tumblr savior ‘How do I France?’ if you want to avoid me rambling about my holiday. Because I like to ramble and I don’t plan to stop)
So apparently there might not be wi-fi in the apartment we’re in for the next week
At all.
There might be, but it wasn’t mentioned on the brochure.
A whole week, checking Tumblr maybe once a day in McDonald’s if I’m lucky, no War Council, no RMC… NOTHING!
Fuck everything.Poor baby, it is like you are being put in rehab.
That is just awful. Maybe you can write, or read a book you’ve been putting off. I know how you feel on some level becuase I’ved missed some really great times in the RMC thanks to “Mother’s laptop thievery.” *huggles*
I have to socialise with actual people. And go out in the sun. And miss all my Tumblr friends. And for the first time in months, I might not be able to post fic.
OTOH: I have a stack of books to read and might be able to get a tan. So there’s that.
